Can
Go Test Go software be used on any cell phone?
No your phone must be Java and Web enabled. Please refer to the
Technical Requirements page of the website to verify that your
phone is compatible with Go Test Go software software.
Where can I purchase Go Test Go software ?
You can conveniently purchase tests directly from your mobile web browser at http://gtg.mp
or from participating mobile carriers such as Telus (Canada), Nextel or Cingular (USA), or O2 (Europe).
You can also purchase from our Go Test Go wireless marketplace
http://gotestgo.com/store. or from various other wireless marketplaces
like Handango (RIM, Nokia, Motorola), Jamba (Europe, USA), Boonty (Asia), and mVolution (Germany).
Finally, Go
Test Go has established volume license agreements with various
content publishers, courseware providers, educational institutions
and advertisers that enable them to provide pre-paid access cards
that enable access to Go Test Go software. Pre-Paid tests
are accessed via your phone at http://gtg.mp, or optionally your desktop at http://www.gotestgo.com/pwd.

Can I use any Carrier or Service Provider?
Almost all Carriers or Network Operators support access to our software. However, a few carriers may prevent you from downloading software outside of their control, thereby limiting your freedom of choice. You can test your network provider (and your phone) by following the Free Sample Instructions below.
The table below identifies carriers/networks that have been tested to work with our software, as well as some yet to be tested. An image of a globe indicates that the carrier enables their subscribers to access Java MIDlets of their choice from the Internet. A brick wall indicates the network provider implements a "walled garden" that prevents subscribers from accessing content of their choosing - including Go Test Go educational content. No image indicates that we have yet to have a report from a subscriber on that network.
If your carrier prevents you from accessing content of your choice, your only remedy is to 1) move to another carrier that supports open access, or 2) if you can transfer data between your PC and your phone, you can download our applications to your PC and then to your phone. You are also encouraged to contact your customer service department and express your dissatisfaction. It probably won't remedy your immediate situation, but may help the cause of freedom of choice.
You may also need to activate Data Services with your service provider, and/or you may incure lower data charges by subscribing to a data plan. However, the cost difference between downloading a single Go Test Go test on a pay-as-you-go basis vs. lowest cost data plan, is typically approximately 30 cents US. Pay as you go charges will likely be about 60 cents US.
FREE Sample Test Instructions To determine for certain that your service provider allows access to third party content, and your phone is compatible with our software, download a FREE sample test. You can access a free sample test directly from your phone by going to http://gtg.mp, select Downloads and then FREE Sample Test.
Please send mail to support@gotestgo.com if you have any new or updated information with respect to access from your carrier, including carrier name, phone manufacturer and model, and specific error messages if possible. We would be pleased to update this table with new information. Anyone is free to take a copy of this table, or the information contained within for their own use.
Please note that we do not guarantee the accuracy or validity of this table for any purpose. It is our belief that it accurately depicts networks that allow/disallow access to a Java MIDlet via the Internet based upon reports from users. We have excellent confidence in positive results, but some walls could be incorrectly identified due to misconfiguration of a phone.

Prepaid Downloads
How do I download/access prepaid or previously purchased tests to my phone? If you have an access code or password you can use it to easily download tests directly from (and to) your phone. You may have received a code through various methods, including evaluation cards, from a volume licensee; or if you have purchased a test from our store a password will be printed on your invoice.
To download your test simply:
1. Navigate or goto http://gtg.mp from the mobile browser of your phone. It's only 6 keystrokes (484167).
2. Select Downloads, then Get Quiz
3. Complete the phone number and password fields as requested (two 10 character boxes, case does NOT matter), and submit the form.
4. Select your choice of authorized tests to start the download and installation. *Note that you can typcially only use a password once, and the link that is made available for you to download your tests is only available for 24 hours.
I entered my phone number and password, but I only see the license agreement? You are seeing the license agreement because you are opening the link to the license agreement rather than "submitting" the form. After entering your phone number and password into the prepaid downloads form you must "Submit" it.
Some browsers do not show a "Submit" button on the form. You must select Submit from an Options menu. You can push or select the back button from the license agreement and try then submit the form by finding the submit button location within your browser. See you phone manual for more details about how to submit a form with your browser.
How do I enter my mobile phone number?
SMS messages are sent internationally and therefore require a complete international number including country code (that's 1 for the US and Canada), network code or area code and the number.
It is important to format your mobile phone number properly so that when you purchase a test we can send SMS (Short Message Service) messages to your phone with a convenient download link you can usually instruct your phone to "goto" or "use".The URL sent in the SMS message is only available for 24 hours.
If you do not receive links via SMS, or your link expires, you can still access your purchased tests (one more time) through our prepaid server using the Password located on your invoice. Instructions are located here.
* Also note that we do not send SMS messages for FREE tests.

In the UK (+44) 0848 9123 456 becomes 448489123456
In SA: 27821234567 (Country Code=27, network prefix=82, number=1234567)
In US or CA: 12481234567 (Country=1, area code=248, number=1234567)

What is GSM?
(Global System for Mobile Communication) GSM is currently the
dominant 2G digital mobile phone standard for most of the world.
It determines the way in which mobile phones communicate with
the land-based network of towers.
The most visible feature of GSM is SIM cards. SIM cards are removable,
thumbnail-sized smart cards which identify the user on the network,
and can also store information such as phone book entries. SIM
cards allow users to switch phones by simply moving their SIM
card from one phone to the other.
What
is GPRS?
(General Packet Radio Service) A packet-switched technology that
enables high-speed (115 kilobits per second) wireless Internet
and other data communications. Using packet switching, subscribers
are always connected and always on-line, so services will be easy
and quick to access.
What is Java?
Developed by Sun Microsystems, J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) is
a feature that allows your phone to run specially-written applications.
J2ME applications can be games or custom-written corporate and
personal applications. They can be created by anyone - not just
the phone manufacturer or your carrier. You can download new applications
to your phone at any time. Most phones allow you to download new
applications directly to your phone using the Wireless Internet
feature.
What is Edge?
(Enhanced Data for Global Evolution) A third generation (3G) technology
upgrade for GSM networks. EDGE was developed to enable the transmission
of large amounts of data at a high speed - 384 kilobits per second.
Because it
is based on existing GSM technology, EDGE is a smooth upgrade
for GSM network operators.
